THE HISTORY OF ST. LUKE'S
Since 1909
With God's guidance and blessings, St. Luke's Episcopal Church began in 1909, by a group of faithful Christian Korean immigrants IN Honolulu. Today, we are a welcoming and inclusive Episcopal church community in the Episcopal Diocese of Hawai'i that welcomes people from all cultures, ages, and backgrounds.
Hawaiian Values. Hawaiian Spirituality.
We are grateful for our Hawaiian cultural heritage as the people of these beloved islands created by Ke Akua (God). We honor the legacy of King Kamehameha IV & Queen Emma who brought the (now called) Episcopal Church from England to Hawai'i in 1862. We strive to practice the Hawaiian values of Aloha (genuine love), Pono (doing what is right and just), Mahalo (thankfulness), Lokahi (oneness, unity, "one team"), and Malama Honua (taking care of our island earth), with the help of Ke Akua and with our utmost personal & collective efforts.
